On February 23, 2024, Oleksiy Meniv, a partner of “Shkrebets and Partners,” addressed the student community of Faculty of Advocacy at the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.
The event focused on exploring the concept of “Soft skills” for law students. During the event, representatives of the legal community received answers to the following questions:
1. What qualities do students need for effective work as lawyers?
2. What does an employer expect when hiring a law student?
3. What role does business etiquette play for law students?
4. What aspects should be considered for development in legal practice?
Thanks to the participants for the lively discussion!
The managing partner of AP “Shkrebets and partners”, Evgeniy Shkrebets, gave an interview to the newspaper “Yuridynchna practicka” about the work of the Association during the war. They talked about how the Partnership works during the war, about the changes in the work of our offices in 2022-2023, and about how the legal business was able to adjust during the war. Particular attention was paid to which practices of the Partnership were most in demand in 2023, how the partial return of inspections by regulatory bodies affected the legal market.
The Attorney of Shkrebets and Partners acted as a speaker for an intensive session at the Online Legal High School.
The speech was devoted to the peculiarities of the work of a media lawyer.
During the intensive, they discussed types of media in Ukraine and abroad, criteria for defining media, and features of their licensing and registration.
The issue of registering bloggers as a media was also not overlooked: the opportunities it provides and the new responsibilities that bloggers have after registration were also discussed.
We thank the participants for their active participation and interesting questions, and the organizers for the excellent organization of the event.
Oleksiy Meniv, a partner of Shkrebets&Partners, successfully represented a client at the European Court of Human Rights.
Our client was found guilty of committing a traffic violation, however, the decision of the court of first instance was not provided to the applicant within the period specified by law for filing an appeal. In this regard, the deadline for filing an appeal was missed, and the appellate court refused to open proceedings.
Since the client’s right to access the court was violated, the Partnership team appealed to the European Court of Human Rights to restore justice. On January 11, 2024, the ECHR adopted a decision that satisfied our client’s complaint under Art. 6 of the Convention and was awarded just satisfaction.
Congratulations to the team that worked on this case on another achievement!
