❗ The Case of Vasyl Stus
This case is not only about prohibition of the book, this case is about the right to historical truth, the right to freedom of speech and thoughts. Basic human rights.

We explain that this is a lawsuit against the book by Ukrainian historian Vakhtang Kipiani entitled “The Case of Vasyl Stus”.
This book is dedicated to the prominent Ukrainian poet Vasyl Stus, who was actually sentenced to death by the Soviet occupation authorities only because he felt Ukrainian, wrote Ukrainian and spoke Ukrainian, and was “too talented.” He simply aspired to an independent and democratic country at a time when the USSR sought to create a “prison of nations” from the occupied territories.
The book consists of materials from a criminal case, as well as author’s essays about certain events in the life of Vasyl Stus. Among other things, the author analyzes the lawsuit against the poet.
The lawsuit was prompted by an attempt by former lawyer Vasily Stus, now a pro-Russian and close to Vladimir Putin politician Viktor Medvedchuk, to erase his shameful involvement in the trial, when he did not defend his client but duplicated his role as a prosecutor.
Viktor Medvedchuk did not manage to rewrite history, no matter how much he wanted to. The appellate court rejected his claims as unfounded.
⚡”The high level of material security of the suspect or members of his family cannot in itself be regarded as an exceptional circumstance that entitles the investigating judge to go beyond the statutory limits in determining the amount of bail, as it does not directly relate to the circumstances of the alleged offense.” – The conclusion reached by the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court in the case, in which the lawyer of AP “Shkrebets&Partners” Ruslan Bekuzarov is a defender.
🏆By the decision of the Appeal Chamber of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of March 4, 2021 in case № 991/520/21, was reduced the bail of the client of the Association from UAH 908,000 to UAH 181,600.
