In the beginning of Luly, 2016 Attorneys-at-law Shkrebets & Partners protected interests of Association of Users of Ukrainian Scientific and Educational Telecommunication Network in the Supreme Court of Ukraine in a dispute with the State Tax Inspection on recognition as illegal and abolition of tax notices-decisions.
Lawyers proved that there was no any different use of the legislation by the courts of previous instances and, as a consequence, – any grounds for a retrial by the Supreme Court of Ukraine. The total amount in dispute was 800 thousand hryvnias.
On March 31 the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Shkrebets and Partners Attorneys-at-law and the Public organization “All-Ukrainian Association of Alumni of the National Law University named after Yaroslav the Wise”.
The signing of the Memorandum was attended by: in the name of the Alumni Association – First Deputy Chairman Yuri Barabash and Secretary Artur Bulgakov; from Shkrebets and Partners Attorneys-at-law – Managing Partner Eugene Shkrebets; Associate Professor of Criminology Department at the University Sergei Lukashevich and students.
Cooperation of the National Law University named after Yaroslav the Wise, and the Shkrebets and Partners has become a tradition: with the participation and financial support of the company the university regularly hosts a variety of events of legal topics. It should be noted that one of the company’s corporate policy elements is full support of young scientists, assistance in the development of higher law education, and practice in order to improve the professional level of modern lawyers.
This is not the first agreement between the University Alumni Association and the Attorneys-at-law. According to the previous agreements the university students can do an internship at Shkrebets and Partners, one of the most respected law firms within the country. The purpose of the present Memorandum is cooperation for the development of law education that includes the company’s participation in scientific and entertainment events on legal topics.
The Memorandum was signed: on behalf of the Alumni Association – Yury Barabash, Eugene Shkrebets – from Shkrebets and Partners Attorneys-at-law.
On March 24, 2016 with the assistance of Shkrebets & Partners attorneys-at-law scientific and practical tournament on criminal law was held at the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.
The event was organized by efforts of university departments of criminal law № 1 and №2, student government of the Investigative and Criminalistic Institute, the Senate, the trade union committee, the student scientific society, Alumni Association of Yaroslav Mudry NLU with financial support from Shkrebets & Partners law firm under the Memorandum of cooperation signed between the University and Attorneys-at-law.
Pro-Rector for Academic Work of the University Yuriy Barabash greeted the students and thanked the representatives of Shkrebets and Partners – Alexey Meniv and Anton Novakov – who performed as members of the jury at the event on this day.
The competition was attended by 7 teams – students of 2-4 years. The team of students of the 3 and 4 years of International Law Faculty – «InLaw» received the highest score of the tournament and the cup.
Partner of Attorneys-at-law Alexey Meniv during his speech expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation between the University and the law firm. He also noted that Shkrebets and partners invite the best students-winners of the tournament to the company for an internship with the possibility of further employment.
Attorneys-at-law Shkrebets & Partners in March 2016 protected interests of more than ten persons in the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine in a dispute with the Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund on the recognition of illegal inactivity relatively to inclusion of the depositors onto the register of persons eligible for reimbursement within the boundary permissible amount (200 000 UAH) as well as on the obligations to take actions regarding the payments in the amount of nearly 2 million hryvnias.
