In connection with the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation to the territory of Ukraine, the emergence of legislation in Ukraine on the forcible seizure of property rights of the aggressor country in Ukraine is natural. As a result, the Verkhovna Rada registered and subsequently passed a law amending the forcible seizure of property in Ukraine by the Russian Federation and its residents. Currently, Bill 7169 is being signed by the President.

Yuriy Babych, attorney of Shkrebets&Partners has analyzed the bill №7265 “On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Law of Ukraine“ On the Legal Regime of Martial Law ”On establishing liability for non-compliance with the law on return to Ukraine after martial law in Ukraine or in some of its areas”. It aims, as stated in the explanatory note, to ensure the full functioning of the defense forces of Ukraine, public authorities and local governments in martial law.
This bill proposes to amend, according to which in the event of martial law in Ukraine or in some parts of it, certain categories of persons who were outside Ukraine at the time of martial law are obliged to return to Ukraine.

The Parliament has registered the bill №7283 “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine” On Local Self-Government in Ukraine “and other legislative acts of Ukraine on democracy at the level of local self-government”, aimed at strengthening the mechanisms of local democracy in Ukraine.
